"From Near" Exhibition

The exhibition presents works of 15 students (seven Juniors and eight Seniors) at VCUarts Qatar. The work is the culmination of the Painting and Printmaking Department’s Paint + Print Practice and Theory class for the Fall semester, 2021. Varied in style and concept, the works presented here highlight the students' unique visions of the world around them. The exhibition also marks the return to in-person learning, after over one year of remote learning, imposed by the pandemic. The title of the exhibition, “From Near” refers to the way we often look at artworks – up close. The exhibition is a celebration of the students’ continued creative spirit, looking forward while simultaneously looking back on the past two years of global upheaval and sorrow.
